Srinagar: Days after two Indian soldiers were brutally killed along the Line of Control (LoC), security forces on Thursday carried out a massive anti-terror operation at several places in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. Some small stone pelting groups, however, kept hindering the operation.
“As many as six villages of the district’s Zainapora area are being combed by the security forces after they received a tip-off about the movement of militants there,” said a senior J&K police official. He also said that a large number of soldiers were involved in these searches for militants which began after midnight.
It must be noted that the state has witnessed a spate of bank robbery cases this month, especially in southern districts of Pulwama and Shopian. Furthermore, the Pakistani forces on Monday last killed two soldiers of the Indian Army and mutilated their bodies, leaving a mark of brutality. The Pakistani side also violated the ceasefire and launched ‘unprovoked’ attacks on Indian posts in Poonch district’s Krishna Ghati sector on Wednesday last.
